2015 brought together some of London’s best-loved restaurants, bars and cafés, with the return of many favourites, including Caravan and Locanda Locatelli; and the addition of new partners including the The Arts Club, Ibérica and Petersham Nurseries.

Locanda Locatelli, one of London’s best-loved Michelin-starred Italian restaurants. For the fourth consecutive year, Giorgio and Plaxy Locatelli operated Locanda Locatelli in the guise of a pop-up a la carte restaurant. Giorgio’s traditional Italian menu included a selection of pastas, salads and risottos all accompanied by Italian wines. In addition, visitors indulged in freshly shaved truffles added to the dish of their choice.

Michelin-starred, Japanese restaurant Umu returned to Frieze Masters for the fourth year, with its elegant, Kyoto-influenced cuisine. Executive Chef, Yoshinori Ishii sources the highest quality, seasonal ingredients from the British Isles, marrying classical Japanese flavours and philosophy with the avant-garde. Yoshinori created a special menu for the fair including bento boxes and the much-loved Umu ‘fish and chips’ tempura. The Umu bar offered specialty Japanese cocktails as well as a wide selection of sake, wine and champagne.

London’s The Arts Club hosted a bar at Frieze Masters for the first time in 2015. The comfortable, elegant space offered a variety of delectable cocktails created live by the club’s innovative barmen, energising fresh fruit cleansers, Pommery Champagne, wine and soft drinks. The Arts Club chefs also devised a special menu of delicious bar snacks for those in need of sustenance, featuring many Arts Club favourites: exquisite charcuterie, cheese straws hand-baked daily and much more besides, all created using the finest, seasonal produce.

London based GAIL’s Artisan Bakery returned to both Frieze London and Frieze Masters in 2015. Each pop-up café served freshly made sandwiches, seasonal salads, soups, pastries and cakes, as well as wine and beer, and hand-roasted coffee. Inspired by The Regent’s Park setting, the cafés were decorated with flowers and greenery.
