Frieze Masters is an international art fair launching in London, October 2012. It will give a unique contemporary perspective on historical art. Approximately 70 of the world’s leading galleries will show work made before the year 2000, ranging from antiquities and old masters to art of the 20th century.

    Location

    Frieze Masters will be held in a bespoke temporary structure in Regent’s Park, London, within walking distance of Frieze Art Fair.

    Dates

    Frieze Masters will coincide with Frieze Art Fair and will be open to the public from 11-14 October 2012.

    Architecture

    Annabelle Selldorf will create a contemporary, elegant environment in which ancient and modern art can be shown side by side. Selldorf Architects has a reputation for the specific demands of art-related projects, having designed not only galleries and museums but also art foundations and collectors’ homes.

    Talks programme

    Frieze Masters will include a programme of talks in which major artists, critics and curators will draw out relationships between contemporary and historical art.

    Museums

    Frieze Masters will have relationships with both London and international museums.
